The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has taken a stern measure by suspending the licenses of two pilots from Tara Air, namely Senior Captain Santosh Shah and Captain Sanjeev Shrestha. This decision follows a disturbing altercation that unfolded at Manthali Airport in Ramechhap on a Friday morning.

The incident in question occurred as Captain Santosh Shah, who had taken off from Lukla, Solukhumbu at 8 a.m., touched down at Manthali Airport. Simultaneously, Captain Sanjeev Shrestha was en route to board the aircraft for a Lukla-bound flight.

Captain Shah, after disembarking from the plane, was walking on the tarmac when he encountered Captain Shrestha, who was making his way toward the aircraft. In a surprising turn of events, Captain Shah extended his hand for a customary greeting, but Captain Shrestha responded by striking Shah on the cheek and forcefully pushing him.

In light of this incident, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal swiftly suspended the licenses of both pilots and initiated an investigation to ascertain the details and circumstances surrounding the altercation. The authority’s decision to suspend the licenses underscores the gravity of the situation and the need for a comprehensive inquiry into the matter.
