A devastating fire in a bicycle store in Lahan, Siraha has destroyed property valued at lakhs of rupees. On Sunday, the Nepal Cycle Store in Lahan Municipality-3 fell victim to the flames, causing an estimated loss of around six million rupees, as reported by Deputy Superintendent of Police Rabindra Raj Pandey.
The fire, which engulfed the store, consumed parts of new bicycles, motorcycles, autorickshaws, and various components intended for sale. While an initial estimate suggests approximately 600,000 rupees worth of property was lost, the precise details are still awaited, according to the police.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Bholakumar Bhatta revealed that efforts to control the fire were initiated promptly. The inferno, which threatened valuable assets, was eventually brought under control around 2 o’clock, thanks to the collaborative efforts of the fire department, local police, and residents from both Lahan Municipality and Golbazar Municipality. Despite these efforts, the cause of the fire remains undisclosed, pending further investigation, as conveyed by Pandey, the Information Officer of the District Police Office in Siraha.
