A 32-year-old Indian citizen, identified as Kimrosangi and holding an Indian passport, was apprehended by police at Tribhuvan Airport with nearly two kilograms of cocaine. The Narcotics Control Bureau revealed that the arrest occurred at 12:30 on Monday night after Kimrosangi arrived from Doha carrying 1 kg 973 grams of cocaine.
The arrest unfolded when authorities conducted a search of Kimrosangi’s luggage upon her arrival in Kathmandu on a Himalayan Airlines flight. During the inspection, it was discovered that the illegal substance was concealed in a plastic packet with a false bottom situated on the upper part of her suitcase.
SP Chakraraj Joshi, the spokesperson for the Narcotics Control Bureau, disclosed that the District Court Kathmandu has granted permission to detain Kimrosangi in connection with a drug-related case. The arrest highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat drug trafficking at Tribhuvan Airport.
