On Monday, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will visit Pokhara as part of his four-day official visit to Nepal.
He arrived in Kathmandu today and will spend the rest of his time in Pokhara. According to Kaski’s Chief District Officer, Basudev Ghimire, they are prepared to welcome Secretary-General Guterres to Pokhara on Monday afternoon.
According to the plan, he would visit Annapurna Base Camp on Monday morning. The district’s security has been beefed up in preparation for the Secretary-General’s visit.
Guterres’ visit to Nepal is his first since taking office in 2017. During his visit, he will hold talks about Nepal’s ongoing peace process, sustainable development goals, and climate change.

The mayor of Pokhara metropolis, Dhanraj Acharya, expressed his excitement about the UN Secretary-General’s upcoming visit to the city. “We are eagerly looking forward to welcoming him to Pokhara,” he went on to say.
