Twenty individuals sustained injuries in an unfortunate accident involving a passenger bus en route from Kathmandu to Dang, which occurred at Bhaluhi in Devdaha Municipality Ward No. 8 of Rupandehi. The accident, involving Bus No. Ba. Pra.03-001, took place around 12:00 last night, resulting in the bus overturning approximately 3-4 meters below the road. Among the 38 passengers on board, 20 were injured.
Devdaha Medical College is currently providing treatment to the injured individuals. Of the injured, two are in serious condition, and five are in moderate condition. The serious injuries include head injuries suffered by 29-year-old Birendra Choudhary from Shantinagar, Dang, and 40-year-old Rikhi Sahu from Kapurkot-5, Salyan. The moderately injured include 56-year-old Prem Chagane from Holeri, Rolpa, with injuries to the chest and right knee, 24-year-old Bhim Oli from Gangadev-2, Rolpa, with a head injury, and 11-year-old Prem Rawat from Kapurkot-1, Salyan, with a head injury, among others.
In response to the accident, a rescue team comprising 10 individuals led by Police Inspector Dr. Prasad Chaudhary and another team of 7 individuals led by Police Inspector Mahesh Pathak from the ward police office in Butwal were deployed for immediate assistance. The bus driver, Pyuthan Jhimruk Pradeep Pariyar, has been detained by the police.
The list of seriously and moderately injured individuals includes residents from various regions, such as Dang, Salyan, Rolpa, and Nuwakot. Additionally, there is a list of individuals with minor injuries, ranging from a 7-year-old from Kapurkot-5 in Salyan to a 60-year-old residing in Rajbiraj-12 of Saptari. The injured parties are currently receiving medical attention, and authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
